An ancient expression says, “Pride comes before
the fall.” The trustees
of Montgomery County
Community College and I don’t
believe this is true. On Jan. 29,
2016, our college’s long search
for a new president finally
ended. Our new president,
former St. Clair County
Community College president
Dr. Kevin Pollock, will start his
tenure here on April 1.
It is with great pride that
we welcome Dr. Pollock to
Montco. His more than 30
years of education experience
and leadership will keep
MCCC and its students
reaching for greater heights.
Indeed, there can be no falling
with a president who shares
the vision of our college
community and hopes, “to
build upon the foundation”
that lay before him.
The Montgazette is
doing its part to build on
that foundation as well. This
semester and going forward,
we are working hard to make
student involvement with this
paper easier by using OrgSync,
what I like to call the college’s
“Club Hub.”
OrgSync is where
students can connect to the
various MCCC clubs, receive
messages about upcoming
events and join the growing
list of writers, editors and
photographers that keep this
paper relatable to its dynamic
student audience.
Signing up with OrgSync
is easy. Just logon to orgsync.
com, search for Montgomery
County Community College
and create an account with the
email address you use most.
While you’re there, scroll
through the clubs section
and look for The Montgazette.
We’re there, along with dozens
of other campus organizations
that are here to help you learn
and grow.
On behalf of The
Montgazette, its staff writers,
advisors, editors and the many
behind-the-scenes people who
tirelessly work to produce
this great work of journalistic
art, it is with pride that we
welcome Dr. Pollock as the
fifth president of Montgomery
County Community College.
With his leadership and our
commitment to achieving our
dreams, we will fill ourselves
and the world with a pride that
won’t let us fall.
